Love or Death
Born 1996, F, from Melbourne, AustraliaFatma is a beautiful Turkish woman from Istanbul and Ali, a handsome Arabic man with a goatee beard complexion from Dubai. They met on Facebook. They fell in love at first sight and are in a long-distance relationship for over five years. They communicate via text and video calling all day and night. They yearn for each other and are euphoric to ultimately meet up.
Ali opened up to his father about Fatma. He advised that Fatma is a virgin and Muslim but he still got a direct no response because Dubai is a strict and religious country so his parents disapprove Fatma’s cultural social behaviour because her lifestyle is a city girl. But they both insist to love each other insanely and deeply; excluding any dirty or sexual thoughts.
Fatma communicates utilizing heart language. She says “I love you so much" to herself. After three seconds, Ali contacts her on Messenger.
“I love you too, I felt your words in my heart”
“I miss you so much my love, I want to finally meet you and hold you in my arms” Fatma cries from her longing emotional trauma.
“Me too but don’t you worry my love I have a crazy idea!”
“Oh, really what is it?”
“I’m going to come to you, to Istanbul, secretly” Ali announces
“you’re crazy!” she yells, jaw dropped
“Yes, I’m crazy for you, I love you so much like Layla and Majnun… do you know their story? How they died for their love?”
Fatma’s amber eyes fills with tears…
“And I know you’re crying now because I feel your tears in my heart”
“I feel anything you feel because your heart is mine”
“And you’re mine” Fatma affirms
“Wait for me my love my flight is four hours”
“I always wait for you my love even if it takes a lifetime, I am so happy right now and I can’t wait to see you soon”
Their hearts were singing, levitating in exhilaration, grinning, beaming and laughing non-stop.
At the Istanbul International Airport, they meet up at the arrival’s terminal. They catch each other’s glance, eyes locked and speedily run to collide into their arms. Ali throws his cobalt backpack down on the ground. They stand hugging speechlessly for minutes and crying in high pitched tones as well.
He caresses her frizzy and mushy hair behind her back and inhales her jasmine aroma and fine hair. She inhales his whisky aftershave as well. They kiss hug, kiss hug repetitively. Wiping away each other’s tears. She pecks a kiss in his palm that is on her right cheek and he exchanges the same for her in return.
“Oh, how much I love you... I waited for this moment for so long” Fatma begins to talk after forty-six minutes!
“Me too but thank God we have finally met my love”
“During those five years, I never gave up on loving you, not even one second”
“I felt you in my heart every second”
They finally release surveying their eyes and stroking each other’s faces with their tangled hands.
“You’re more beautiful than your photos” Ali studies worshipping her like a goddess.
“And you’re so handsome, I love you with my heart and tears” Fatma affirms.
They exchange gazes, standing in the centre of the airport; feeling that fond, intimacy, mountainous pure, and soft love that they share. Passengers give an admiring impression to the love scene; driving their trolley’s stacked with luggage and children whooping with adrenaline to be on a plane for the first time.
They both stare, smile, laugh, cry and hug unstoppably. Irresistibly obsessed and addicted!
“My love, whenever you miss me, I want you to keep this” he gives her his black woollen scarf.
“I’m going to breathe in your smell onward. And here, this is mine” she gives him her mahogany cotton scarf.
He digs his nostrils into her scarf.
They devote and cherish their precious time together at Fatma’s neighbourhood; in a secluded area in Uskudar near the Kuzguncuk Park. But the time flew so rapidly.
“My boarding pass is a one-day return flight because if my dad finds out I’m out of the country, he will kill me” Ali informs.
“I’m so saddened to hear that you have to go back so early. When will we be together again, permanently?”
“Oh, my love it kills me when you say that but I need to tell you something in great importance. I have to be honest with you because if I ever do you wrong, I will never forgive myself because you’re so worthy of for me.
My mum has booked an arranged marriage for me with this girl but don’t worry; you have nothing to worry about; I’m going to be honest and tell my whole family and relatives that I only love you” he discloses the truth.
“Oh my god but what would they do if you reject this marriage?”
“don’t you worry my love, it’s either you or until death do us part”
Fatma escorts Ali to the Istanbul International Airport at the departure’s terminal. They hug for thirty-three minutes! Ali tries to leave taking four steps but he comes back and hugs Fatma again. He then takes another eight steps and comes back again to hug her. It is so difficult for Fatma to dismiss him and separate from a love so true.
“I breathed in your smell, how can I let you go now?”
“You have my scarf now my love, don’t forget”
She buries her face into his scarf and sniffs it.
“I promise you, you’re the only girl I love and I will never love anyone else” he demands.
“I know my love; I trust you one hundred percent and I will always love you and wait for you even if it takes forever”
She kisses his hand and tells him to go this time without looking back and she waves goodbye to him; putting in an effort to form a smile with tears filling her amber eyes.
Ali returns back to Dubai but things don’t go well as planned and he is unresponsive in answering to any of Fatma’s calls and messages. She can feel that he is in danger from her clairvoyant ability. She gets panic stricken and shortness of breath; she has a heavy feeling in her heart and unknowingly, her whole body feels like aches and pains.
Ali’s cousin Ahmad posts and tags a picture of Ali bashed up and writes saying:
We do not tolerate a marriage that is haram outside of our cultural customs and morals.
This is what you deserve!
If you do not obey this warning be sure to expect more!
Either live or die…
Despite the fact that Ali’s family was well aware that Fatma is a virgin and that she had the same religion (Islam), Arabic people are stricter than Turkish people. So, there is a mega difference.
Fatma got terror stricken! Fortunately, she ultimately detected the location information from Ali and rapidly rushed to the Al Zahra hospital in Dubai; without getting caught from his aggressive father and calculating mother.
Fatma arrives and sees her love with a split head in stitches, broken arm and leg. She slumps down to the ground helplessly in disbelief and shock to see her love in such bad condition.
“Oh, my love, what has happened to you!” Fatma exclaims
“Oh, don’t you worry my love, I would die for you, this is nothing” Ali reassures her
“How could I not I feel your pain that I’m in so much pain right now”
Fatma sags down and begins to cry; she sits down next to the hospital bed and hugs him tenderly to not hurt him.
“I’m never going to leave you, I will always love you in health and sickness, youth and age, it’s either you or death” she compromises.
Fatma and Ali made a savaged plan because their love is the impossible. Otherwise, their enemies will separate them. They believe it’s the only overnight solution. So, they decide to secretly and without getting caught, return back to Istanbul together.
They sit onboard the Emirates A380 plane; gleeful and close up; goggling the entire flight; inhaling their breaths into their lungs; inspecting and petting their faces with their conjoined hands.
Once they touchdown in Istanbul, showered gushes of rain hit; the couple clasps hands and run into the rain. They get soaked up in natural rainwater and Ali carries and twists Fatma in spirals rejoicing in bliss.
They unwind for a second and they examine their face gestures…
“I can read your heart and words…” he says
“I was going to say, I feel so much love for you”
“Yes, I felt that you were going to say this, I feel the same way too”
She hugs him…
“But so much” she repeats
“I love you so much too”
“My love” she utters in a long-vocalized expression while hugging him.
Once the rain settles down, they take a trip to the Uskudar Metro Station. Their final destination. To commit suicide. To immortalise their true love story.
Ali spots a glimpse of Ahmad from a long-distance view with a gun in his hand. He uncovered their address from an application called, family tracker.
“The time has come my love, are you scared?” he asks
“With you? Never. I will meet you in heaven my love” she concludes.
Clenching hands, a train approaches and they jump in front of it before Ahmad murders them. All the travellers enforce to push them back but they fail. Ahmad and the others watch them get their bodies smashed to pieces; in an open-mouthed shock.
And now they may reunite in spiritual and heavenly happiness.
