CALM DOWN, HARRISON!
Born 2004, F, from Karachi, PakistanI was sure it was Harrison, I couldn’t mistake those fun-to-play-with hair, his all-time favorite grey hoodie and his really manly posture. I couldn’t help myself, I shrieked and both of my friends followed my gaze.
“That is Harrison, am I right? Or am I day dreaming?” I felt as I was losing it.
“Yeah, he is Harrison, gods what a coincidence why don’ we go up there and talk to him about what he did to you?!” Isabella exclaimed.
“No, its not about that, it always seems to me that it wasn’t intentional, but he shouldn’t have left the school.” I murmured solemnly.
“Why does it seems to me, Hazel, that you are worried about him.” Amelia paused and looked at me, I had no answer.
“In simpler words you like him?” Isabella continued, this time a lump formed in my throat, I quickly looked away while Amelia stood up hurriedly, with her eyes widened.
“No! No you don’t like him… right? You mustn’t” She said out aloud.
“Amelia and Isabella will you both please stop this drama!” I pleaded in a bit harsh way, all of it was getting on my nerves.
“Why were they acting like grandmothers?” I thought to myself and the next thing I knew was that we were standing right in front of him examining his melancholy eyes which were once magestical.
I didn’t know where to start off and then heck! I saw a shine of tears in his eyes. NO! that wasn’t what I wanted!
“Harrison! What happened, look none of us is judging you over what had happened, I know what it feels like in stress, I’ve experienced it as well, can we sit down and talk!?” I cooled him down, panicking myself up.
He looked in my eyes, then at Amelia and Isabella and then lowered his head. Isabella dragged Amelia off with her, it was nearly the time of dusk. We sat alone in that sector of park.
“They’re gone Harrison” he raised his head, changed his position and sighed.
“I’m sorry for what happened that day, I wasn’t doing it intentionally” I diverted my gaze to keep myself in my senses and then continued.
“What’s disturbing you?”
“My life”
“Same probs here! Life sucks I know right...”
“You’ve got friends, Hazel, I’ve none to share my feelings with and the fact that I catch attention makes me guilty in my own eyes” he shifted a bit on the bench.
“No friends? Tell me you are joking Harrison! What am I to you?” I was shocked, I didn’t expect him to say something like this.
“I thought you hated me”
“As if I can, at least not me, in fact no one can hate you and that I am sure about” I had no idea what I had confessed, what had I said. I quickly lowered my head.
I could feel him staring me. I finally geared and looked up, smiled, and reached for his mouth that hung open but he pushed away my hand gently. I regretted. I felt embarrassed.
“You dunno my past” he finally spoke.
“Whatever, it doesn’t matter” I guess I said it to hide my embarrassment.
“Would you like to?”
“If you’d like to tell!”
