Not Even The Bones
Born 1994, F, from Portland, Oregon, United States"Sometimes mortals can be more horrible than monsters." ― Rick Riordan
Akenehi was known the be an urban legend, a spider queen that resided inside what the locals called The Moaning Catacombs, since it had a reputation with luring in tourists and having them go missing inside a cave opening that led to hundreds of catacombs beneath the town. Naturally there was no proof of such a queen, which was why there was no man hunt to find her, but just like most things in this world, just because you don't believe doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
After almost a decade had passed since she had last awoken, she had been called to appear by voices, young voices. She could hear their laughter, feel them trying to mask the fear they had in their hearts. Her hair was like darkness as it fell in front of her as she began to climb down from her main web. She had the top half of a human, beautiful snow white skin with a dark bra to hide her breasts from the prying eyes of her victims. Her bottom half was much like a spider with eight long, sharp and thin legs that sprouted out to a large size. It was true she was monster but she wasn't always. She once was human, fully human.
"Shut up, Billy, I don't want to play this game anymore," a young girl, about fifteen had whined with false annoyance. Akenehi knew the truth, her fear was delicious and she couldn't wait to taste it from the source. The spider queen licked her lips in anticipation as she neared the teenagers.
"Don't be such a drama queen Sally," one of the two boys poked fun at her, "you are the one interested in this stupid soap opera legend. I mean come on, who really believes in witchcraft? The woman had sex with a bunch of dudes here, she felt shame for being so easy and wanted to play victim for some attention. She went after the men in an attempt to prove her lie and she died trying to kill them."
"What about the rest of the story?" the other boy asked, his friend glared at him. Akenehi had smiled at how naive these children really were.
"You nothing of the truth," the young girl named Sally barked at the two boys with a fierce stare. The girl's eyes were as cold as the queen's, with interest Akenehi watched her until Sally spoke again, "Akenehi the spider queen was a human woman named Anges McKenzie. About 10, 000 years ago she was lured to this cave, where a group of men had forced themselves upon her. They had tortured her and left her for dead within the catacombs. What happened after was she died within these walls but made herself a deal with a spider that whispered to her. Many say she was hallucinating but as the story goes, the spider was the devil that made her wish for revenge to come true. She had sold her soul and in return he made her into something that the children in the village had nightmares about. They say her cries from the cave is what brought those men back to this cave and when they disappeared, she didn't even leave their bones for the village to find."
"Cute story, right Nick?" laughed Billy, his eyes were locked onto Sally's overly developed chest for her age. There was a certain silence that seemed familiar to Akenehi as she watched the boys nod at each other. In a quick second, they had jumped on the young girl. One boy was trying to undo his pants while the other was pinning Sally down, groping her chest and trying to pull off her clothes. The queen slid down further from her silk like web and she reached out her hands to grab both boys by their necks as she rose them off the ground. They kicked and clawed at her strong grip but she didn't let up. She didn't hold them tight enough to strangle them but just enough for them to get the message that they were in some real trouble. She smiled her rows of razor teeth to them.
"Hello boys," Akenehi cooed to them in a haunting voice that embedded inside their very bones. She gazed over to the young girl whom was scrambling to get her ripped clothing back over her chest to hide her body. The sight had caused the queen's temper to rise further and she looked back to her future meals as she told them, "still don't believe?"
She felt her mouth spread open as wide as she jaw could take than began to snap as it opened wider. Her teeth began to grow longer, sharper and her eyes rolled to the back of her head causing them to look pure white. It was the last thing Billy and Nick would see besides the inside of her stomach as they died a slow and painful death as she swallowed them both whole. She didn't even leave the bones for their families to find. She descended back into the darkest parts of her prison to slumber once again.
Akenehi, the queen of spiders fell asleep to Sally's screams and her distressed footsteps as she bolted for her life.
