New stocking saying “I love horses”
Like most parents they made me go, it was a hunting auction. I love hunting but it is past the fall!” Yeesh”, I think “this will be boring” but I did not know that my parents had lied, for this is where my lifelong dream of…. I shouldn't tell you it is too good to spoil. Well on my way to the auction I saw the sign, but the real sign was covered up with a paper saying the hunting auction, “WEIRD” I thought allowing my thoughts to drift quietly out of my mouth. As my family and I arrived in the parking lot there was a familiar set of voices. My mom knew them and told me that they were the same people that held the dog show last year. “ALL RIGHT let's go in,” my dad says. “YAY.” I say trying to be enthusiastic, my dad knows what I was pulling off and gave me “the look”.
We walk in and get a table, surprisingly my Aunt Emily who lives in Colorado waves us over. I run over to her and give her a big hug and see who else is here my, three cousins and my younger sister that was at my grandma's house, both sets of grandparents, all my aunts and uncles. “HI,” I say to everyone and sit by my cousin, Tucker. When a long lecture about rules and why people from California were pushing and shoving in line for the plane was over the man finally says we can look around. The tickets that I got added up to 15 I ran around with my cousins and stop at a life-size statue of a Morgan, so did my cousins. We stared and read the label, a blue roan colored gelding morgan, MY FAVORITE! I run to my parents and say “MOM, DAD I FOUND A BLUE ROAN COLORED GELDING MORGAN!” I exclaim! They know and I know we don’t have room so they say “Only one ticket in there” I am pretty sure that they thought that a ton of people would want it and they were right, the bucket was full. So each of us I call us the turkeys: Lily(cousin), Tucker (cousin), Mia (cousin), Zoey(my sister) and I. All of the 5 turkeys put one ticket in. There was a girl carrying a puppy also my favorite, a black lab husky mix. She noticed my stare and said quickly “here” and pulled 4 more out of her bag and gave the tiny puppies to me I handed them out to the other turkeys, by now the girl was racing for the door. Well, I sighed and I went to tell my parents about Bisey pronounced (Busy) Bisey as in my new puppy. “Hey mom, this girl gave me 5 black huskies (the mix) and she left like two minutes ago!” I said
“Mmmh,” she said, “and what did we say about puppies?”
“MOM! PLEASE!” I almost gave her the puppy eyes, but the real puppies did it for me, all of them.
“Ugh. . . fine but you are going to have to buy everything for them, although we will pay the vet bills, EVERYTHING ELSE IS ON YOU AND YOUR COUSINS.” she gave me a stern look and walked over to tell my dad and my cousins parents to make sure it was ok with them, surprisingly they said yes but they had the same standerds as my mom. As we went over to see what else there was, a cute stocking that said “My love for horses in unbreakable” perfect, I put two tickets in hoping to win it. We walked around some more and spent the rest of our tickets and went back to our seats to wait for the drawing. The minutes passed as we waited, and waited, and waited. A THOUSAND years passed and the man by the name of Mr. Hounter was up on the stage again. He went for the first bucket that I had put two in, a horse painting with a dog in it. “Cough, cough, ok today's first winner is… drum roll please….thud thud thud thud thud thud thud thud thud thud………………………………….15039” Mr. Hounter said.
“Dang not me,” I said
“Oh wait no this is an example ticket. The winner is……………..19537”
“Yes!!!! Score!!!!” I dance up to the stage and carefully take the painting in my hands, surprisingly it is super heavy. I try not to show it though. When we came back from the car I had won the stocking too. When the horse was up all the turkeys were tense.
“OK the blue roan Morgan that is a gelding” he continues “ the winner is……………………………..” he said nothing more perhaps he wanted tension and he got it, he spoke on… “the winner is…………………….19537! Congrats you are on a winning role! Oh, and I hope you read the fine print.” My mom and I looked at each other and shook our heads. “Oh,” he sighed “You get the Morgan and 4 other horses of your choice 5 portals to the 100 Acre farm, you also get four 5 Acre pastures and a barn that fits ten animals. That is not it though, you get bazillions of trails and individual helpers and trainers. You might call it a land of dreams because the statue in front of your little cabin will grant MOST wishes, MOST! Ok, lucky winner, you can give the portals and 4 other horses to whoever you chose. Oh, and those puppies...” he pointed to the 5 very attentive puppies that lay in the hands of my fellow turkeys, “those are wishers,” he spoke very quietly “wishers are the most magical animal there is. They will be happy when you are happy with how they are trained and how they look. So if you wish hard that they would fit you, they walk to you... sit on your lap and transform like a magic animal. When they are done, they are happier than ever and act just how you want them too. But I will warn you they go with your heart so if deep down you want to play they will beg you to play with them.” He went back to his post and continued on like nothing ever happened. After the auction, we went home and the cousins went to our house too. So much had happened and I couldn't imagine it was real. Bisey was barking and barking, I picked him up and wished he would be perfect for me I imagined him transforming into my dream dog. It worked! He went up to me and sat on my lap, looking away but still thinking he transformed. He looked exactly how I wanted him. When I went out I nearly went through the portal. I looked at my cousins and they too had transformed their puppies.
“HEY MOM THE COUSINS AND I ARE GOING TO THE BARN,” I exclaim
“Ok honey, tell us how it goes.” my mom answered quivery we all went through the portal but, I went in first. Woooooooooooooooosh all the feeling in me was changed to amazement when I got out of the portal. The wonderus sene was soothing, the flowers were perfectly placed and all the horses were in their stalls eating a huge meal. I assume they eat in the pasture all day except morning and night and to cover their hunger they have a big nutritious meal at 6:00.
“Wow.” is all we could manage. After that trans thing, (that was really creepy) we ran for our horses. We were so astonished that the horses weren't fake that we took forever brushing them and tacking up. When we were all done we went on one of the gorgeous pathways and talked about what had happened still believing some of this was fake. As we were walking right toward a lake a creature moved. I was not freaked out because there was plenty of warning signs that crocodiles were around but they did not attack without warning. As we walked closer on our horses the animal came out…the creepy figure walked closer, it was not a crocodile……………………. We turned our horses around and galloped them all the way back. The problem was we wanted to find out what it was...
