Love Dies.
Born 2005, M, from Cromwell, CT, United StatesI sluggishly lifted my head off the rugged dresser. "Dang, John your so stupid!" I said to myself. I slowly put my head back on the dresser. Suddenly I heard little pebbles hit my window "PHEW PHEW!" another one hit the window. It was dark, so I was more careful as I prepared to defend myself, I carefully, and gradually lifted the window up. When I looked down, a smile fell upon my face. "Hey babe, what are you doing?" "John come on let's go for a walk. I haven't seen you since you got back." I chuckled and said, "All right, I'm coming." I slipped on my red All-Star Converses; headed out my room and through the back door. Elle ran into my arms. "Baby I haven't seen you in two weeks, I missed you!" "I missed you way more, Puerto Rico wasn't fun without you there." We kissed for at least four minutes after that. We walked down the neighborhood. "Elle, did anything interesting happen at school while I was away?" She looked at me giving me a distasteful stare. "Of course silly, it's school nothing changes besides drama!" The journey was filled with love, laughs, and fun. As we reached her warm home, I caressed her cheek, as I smoothly grabbed her hand. I gazed at her smooth dark chocolate skin, her bright lips, and her puffy face. Making emotional eye contact in a delicate voice, I said: "Hey baby being away from you for so long made me realize how much I..I love you." "I love you way more John... I do. You make me smile every time I see you." Quietly my heart started to beat, as we gave each other a soul-stirring kiss. "Bye babe, see tomorrow at school," said I. I started to walk back home; I was full of excitement. "Beep Beep," said my old-age alarm clock. My hand slammed down onto the unfortunate alarm. After hauling my indolent body out of bed; I opened my closet to search for an outfit. I was looking through my wardrobe until, my eyes stumbled upon my virgin, pure white polo shirt, I had got at the mall before going on my trip. I headed downstairs and grabbed an apple and sauntered to the bus stop. The bright yellow bus stopped right in front of me. The doors flew open, I stepped on the bus and sat down in my regular seat next to the window. I started to doze off, as we arrived at Lincoln High School. I hoisted the book-filled book bag on my back and exited the bus. My life was pretty black and white; Elle was the only color in my life. Everytime I thought about her a friendly smile erected on my face. She was the love of my life, my shooting star, my everything and nothing could change that. As I cruised to her locker, she glared over to me and kissed me, as she headed into class. After school, we hopped in her red Sudan and headed home. The car ride was all love we laughed had fun. Suddenly saungine car took a sharp turn off of Green St. The car blocked our path to Grove st, Elle swerved out the way trying to maneuver the accident, but it was no use. The Sudan flipped three times in the air before landing. As I woke up glass was everywhere; cuts were all over my meaty arms, drawing pints of blood. Everybody surrounded the car, looking surprised and shocked although nobody called the police. The first thing that came to mind was Elle; I crawled over to the driver seat to see laying there lifeless. Without notice, tears started to roll down my bloody face. "No..No...No Elle, please wake up I need you!" Ellie dying had to be a dream it couldn't end like this, it was all happening too fast. "SOMEBODY CALL AN AMBULANCE, PLEASE ANYBODY!" However, deep in my broken heart I knew she was gone, gone from this world, gone from my dreams. She was gone.

10/13/2018Sad story. But the old saying, "It is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved", comes to my mind when I read it. We only know the sorrow of loss when we love someone and lose them. And even though losing them brings deep sorrow, loving them in the first place is one of the greatest joys of life. Thanks for sharing your sad story about love and loss, Malik.
