The Enchanted Stone Palace
Born 2008, F, from Portland, Oregon, United States“This is the last time.” Grumbled Carrie
“What? The 100 page prompt that Ms. Crenshaw gave us?” Said Emily.
“Well DUH!” Complained Carrie.
The two friends were walking home from Carden School Academy. Carden School Academy was a very strict school. The headmaster, Mr. John Wood always insisted that they wrote in old fashioned cursive. Most students left the school after 3 years, but Carrie and Emily were special cases. They had been transferred from the program called Special Students & Spellwork. It was for Wizards and Witches.
Suddenly, Carrie fell into a pile of grabbing ferns. They were a type of plant that grabbed prey that were close to it.
“AHH!” Yelled Carie.
“Hang in there! I just need to find my wand!” Yelled Emily.
“Grasp!” Yelled Emily. A giant silvery hand reached in the plant’s direction and played tug-o-war with the plant for a while. It would have been funny, but Carrie was the one being tugged.
“Hey! Watch it!” Said Carrie as she swatted the giant hand.
“Oh well. Sighed Emily. Guess I have to use my firespell.”
“Fire!” She yelled. The plant shrieked with pain (Yes, I said shrieked.) and shriveled up. The ashes slowly floated down.
“The next time you save me, try to be quicker about it, ok?” Huffed Carri.
“Sorry.” Apologized Emily.
The 2 friends walked for a while, chatting about school and other things. They were so busy they didn’t realize that they had turned into the Screaming Swamp!
The Screaming Swamp is a place where you don’t want to go. But the Enchanted Rose lake is somewhere you WANT to go. Unfortunately, our heroines do not go to the Enchanted Lake.. Argh! Stupid chatting.
Anyway, our heroes didn’t notice that a giant castle was coming into view.
Slosh, Slosh, went the swamp when Carrie stepped.
“Hey! Emily? I t-think we’re in the Screaming Swamp!” Stammered Carrie.
“We are?!?” Shrieked Emily.
“Yeah.” Whispered Carrie.
Suddenly, our heroes were shot in the back with a sleeping dart. The world started to spin, their legs turned to jelly, and the they crumbled to the soggy and damp swamp water.
Emily groggily rubbed her eyes.
“Where are we?” She yawned.
No answer. Emily jumped to her feet but suddenly fell.
She looked down and GASP! SHe was wearing the most hideous pale blue dress (In her eyes) with heels and…Her hair was styled into a beautiful braid. She looked at Carrie who was snoring peacefully. SHe was wearing an itchy pink dress with so many jewels adorning her hair that Emily couldn’t count them. She was also wearing a ruby encrusted crown that was sitting on her pale blonde locks. Her hair was also in a braid. But at her feet, Carrie was wearing shoes made out of crystal. It was like a Barbie in the Dreamhouse tornado had suddenly come and whirled them to perfection.
Suddenly, Carie woke up. She looked down at herself and screamed. Then she fell asleep again.
“Unbelievable.” Thought Emily. Yet she laughed. She looked through the tiny window in the cell. She saw a garden full of blossoms and orchids. She recognized the flower Forget-me-Nots. They were her favorite flower.
“Hello. I am Cadens.” Said a silky voice.
“What?” Emily whirled around and looked disgustingly beautiful.
“I said I’m Cadens. Anyway, I hoped you liked the clothes that my brother picked out. If not, I apologize. It’s been so long since a witch has come into these parts.”
Emily just stared at him over and over again. Cadens was dressed in clothes fit for a king. She… She HATED it. She glared at him and turned away and walked to the shadowy corner so he wouldn’t see her.
“Please come out.” Cadens begged.
“Who?” Yawned Carrie as she stood up slowly. She took one look at Cadens and raised her eyebrows and joined Emily in her pouting corner. They both crossed their arms. Then slowly they rose up and stared at Cadens.
“Oh, right!” He exclaimed. He rummaged in his pocket and pulled out a emerald key. He unlocked the door and girls held their dresses and walked briskly out of the cell. They followed Cadens to a throne room with a million jewels, all as big as a bathtub.
Suddenly, without warning, the throne room became a battlefield. Cadens was standing on the other side.
“One of you will battle me. Choose quickly, seeing as you only have 2 minutes to discuss.” He said.
Quickly Emily stepped into the square without saying a word. Carrie knew that Emily was a better witch. No question about it.
TWEET!!!!!!
“Canter!’ Yelled Emily. Million versions of Emily surrounded Cadens.
“Impressive. Said Cadens.
“Sast!” All of the Emily’s ( including the regular one. ) shot blinding light that blinded him. He yelled in pain. But still managed to do a spell.
“Grasp!” A giant blue hand grasped Emily. She yelled something we couldn’t hear but soon a giant sword stabbed the hand and left Emily free falling. Down, down, down. She fell to the ground in a crumpled heap of pain.
