"Hi,Jess, "Bill called as he rode to his sister,"What are you waiting for?"
"Mom,"she answered.
"Gotta go with Willy to New York raceway park. You know, that new one,"Bill said,"Bye."
Bill started the bike and soon he was out of sight. Jessie sighed. She wanted to spend another minute with him.
Bill hurried to the fountain in the park where he'd meet Willy. Together they would go to the picnic area where the race would start.
"Bill," Bill heard suddenly. Someone was calling his name.It was Willy. He waved to Bill and told him,"It's late, but if we hurry we could make it in time." And they hurried on.
At the picnic area:
"Ok, kids, we will start our daily race. One, two, three, go!" the director shouted.
All kids started their bikes with a thud and raced off.
"Bill," Willy asked as they were halfway through the race,"Do you see that white glowing animal over there?"
"I don't know. Take a picture of it; I'll look at it later."
After the race:
"Funny,"remarked Bill,"this isn't an animal; I think it's a ghost!
"I'll show the picture to Grandpa and Uncle Sam. I'll bet they know."
At Grandpa's house:
"Bill, you're right. It's a ghost. Just kill it at the next race." Uncle Sam said.
"But how do I kill it?!"
"With a gun."
Grandpa nodded.
15 minutes later, Bill had a gun and informed Willy about Uncle Sam's plan.
"Tomorrow, we'll go to the race."
The next day, as expected, Bill and Willy were at the race.
Towards the middle, Willy shouted excited,"Bill, shoot! It's the ghost!"
Bill shot once, twice. Nothing. After about six shots the ghost was finally gone.
At Grandpa's house:
"Uncle Sam, the gun isn't tightly screwed. Maybe it didn't die right away because of that?"
"No, that can't be. Why do you think that a loosely screwed gun is the reason why the ghost didn't die right away?"
"Whatever... Can you tighten it for me?"
Uncle Sam tried to tighten the gun, but there was something blocking it.
"Take apart the gun," Grandpa suggested.
They had started to when Bill exclaimed,"Do I see what I think I'm seeing?!"
Inside, there was a picture of the ghost that Bill had killed with this very gun.
There was also a bag of old and interesting looking coins.
"Look! Someone wrote something on the bottom of the picture,"Bill pointed.
"Very dangerous ghost. Only gets harmed after a few bullets." Uncle Sam read.
"So that's why it took six bullets to kill him."Bill finally answered his previous question.
Grandpa looked at the coins,"What will you do with it?"
"I'll keep it as proof that this story really happened!"
