A long time ago at an old camp near the hills of Hollywood…....
Every summer and winter Lisa Favre went to camp. One winter Lisa found out that she was going to be in a cabin with Whitney Howard. She hated Whitney Howard, because she was so sarcastic and always getting her cabin into trouble. Last summer Whitney had encouraged her cabin to “TP” another cabin. After that, the whole group had clean-up duty for the rest of the week.
When camp started Lisa was not happy about going this time. But she knew that her parents had paid a good deal of money to get her enrolled for the winter session. Lisa arrived at camp and right away Whitney got on her nerves. “Hey guys, have you seen that old abandoned cabin on the hill? It looks like they got it all taped off or something,” said Whitney in her annoying voice.
Lisa answered, “Yup, we seen it. It’s off limits though. The ground isn’t stable or something like that. We are supposed to stay away from it.”
“What’s wrong? Chicken?” said Whitney.
The following day it began to rain. The kids were all stuck inside doing indoor activities. A counselor came around and asked where Whitney was. The other kids shrugged and continued their games. Lisa had her suspicions. She knew that Whitney was somewhere up to no good. She thought to herself that she was not about to do any clean-up duty because of Whitney’s shenanigans.
So Lisa snuck out of the lodge and went to look for Whitney. She couldn’t find her anywhere. Then suddenly it hit her, she knew where Whitney was. She walked up to the tenth cabin on the hill which was the abandoned one. She walked around to the backdoor to look inside, and there was Whitney and another camper smoking cigarettes. Lisa was pissed…plus it was raining harder now.
“I can’t believe you would come up here after it was forbidden and then have the nerve to smoke. I am not going down for you. That’s it. I’m about to report you!”
The other camper that Whitney was smoking with put out her cigarette and ran out of the cabin.
“Don’t you dare snitch on me Lisa Favre. Get back here!” yelled Whitney.
Suddenly, the cabin seemed like it was moving. Lisa ran out and left Whitney where she stood. Whitney yelled for Lisa to wait, but she kept on going. The cabin began to slide downward and then suddenly it collapsed. Whitney was still inside.
Four years later Lisa took a job at the camp as a camp counselor. She hadn’t been back to the camp since the incident at the tenth cabin. She was assigned to work the camp’s weekend Autumn Harvest Festival. One night she was sitting up talking to some of the other counselors, when one of them said in a joking manner, “So have you met Sally Walker?” Lisa looked puzzled and shook her head. The counselors laughed when Lisa asked who they were talking about. She figured it must have been some sort of Halloween tale or something made up to spook the weekend campers out.
“Oh…you haven’t heard? The camp is haunted by this girl that we all call Sally Walker after the camp song. ”
Lisa laughed it off, but felt a bit shaky by what she had heard. That night Lisa was on her way back to the cabin after her break. She walked by the empty spot where the tenth cabin used to be. She saw a kid standing there. The girl didn’t look like one of her campers.
She walked a bit closer and said, “Hey there. What cabin do you belong in? Where are you supposed to be?”
Then suddenly the girl seemed to disappear as if she was never there. The next morning she confronted the counselors that she had hung out with the night before. She thought that they had been playing pranks on her. One of them laughed and said that it was the ghost of Sally Walker.
The next night Lisa was in her cabin asleep. She felt as cold as ice. She opened her eyes and there was girl standing over her. She sat up and bumped her head on the bunk above. When she looked again the girl was gone. This time she was sure it was the ghost that the counselors had called Sally Walker. But, she knew that Sally Walker was not the ghost’s name.
The following night she waited for the ghost to show up. When the ghost didn’t appear, Lisa went and walked up to the space where the tenth cabin used to be. The place where Whitney Howard had died… She called out Whitney’s name and the ghost appeared. It beckoned for Lisa to come forth. Lisa walked forward into a mist. The mist turned into a rainbow of colors and then she saw something weird. It was as if she were watching a film. She saw herself running down the hill and Whitney yelling for help before the cabin collapsed. When the “film” was over, the ghost frowned at her and then grabbed at her. This time she couldn’t run away. The ghost stood in front of her and made her watch another “film”, in which she saw Whitney’s body being taken away in an ambulance. Then, as if she was satisfied the ghost released Lisa and dematerialized.
The next morning Lisa packed her bags and resigned from being a camp counselor. When she got home she turned on her computer and looked up Whitney Howard’s family. They lived in Chatsworth, out in the Valley. She went to their house and told them that she had been there when Whitney became stuck in the collapsed cabin.
Whitney’s mother said, “I see... Well maybe you should take a ride with me. I want to show you something that may help to give you closure.”
Lisa had reservations about going with the ghost’s mother anywhere, but she went anyway. She figured that it must be Whitney’s grave or something. But, instead they were at the hospital. They went to the 13th floor and there in a bed was Whitney, but she was in a coma. She had been in a coma for four years. Lisa began to cry and then she said, “Oh Whitney…I am so sorry. I should have made you leave with me. I am so sorry.” Lisa sobbed on and on.
Then suddenly Whitney’s eyes flew open and her body jerked upward. The monitors began to go off and make weird noises. She grabbed Lisa’s arm with a cold vice like grip, and said in a dry scratchy voice, “You didn’t wait for me, but…..I waited for you Lisa.” And then Whitney flat lined and died. And so did Lisa…..
