AUTHOR PROFILE
I am a writer.
Writing is my passion.
I have written in Kashmiri, Urdu and English languages and have tried in various literary genres including prose, poetry and short story.14 of my publications have thus far been published. They include poetic collections, collections of short stories and simple prose. More than fifty plays have also been broadcast and telecast on radio and television. They are yet to be published in book form.
I prefer to write about my own situation, experiences. Whether it is my short stories, poetry or plays, my theme is always pain in its comprehensive sense. Pain is the canvass on which I paint.
Each individual soul seems pain incarnate to me. Every laughter to me is fraught with vestiges of agony. Man’s laughter seems insincere while his crying genuine.
I think I have seen life raw. Even birds and flowers to me seem writhing with angst.
So far as I have penetrated human psychology, I feel human weaknesses, pride, laughter, dressing, every aspect of human personality as an effort to mitigate that pain. Whether he is conscious or un-conscious of it. Anyone who refutes me is not saying truth.
People are generally sadists are masochists. They either inflict pain on themselves or on others. But the aim in both these cases is self-gratification.
Art is a part of life. Life consists of emotions; hatred, love, loyalty, infidelity and such emotions breed art. Art cannot be termed as mental voluptuousness or escape from real life. Nor is art resort of some mental freaks. Art is a battlefield where more intense wars of life are fought. It unties the mysteries of life and even death; and also attempts to make sense of much of incomprehensible. In fact, I would say, it teaches us the meaning of life.
Databanks are essential but they cannot mint the currency of wisdom. So its relevance is beyond question even in our industrialized and technological age.
