One day he saw Ravinder was going out with his wife and son. He began to chase him. His body was shaking with excitement and anger. He felt the revolver In his pocket with his right hand. He saw them entering a restaurant. He silently followed them. The restaurant was full of people. He found a single table in a corner. From here he could watch them.
Unaware of the presence of their enemy they gave the order to a waiter and got busy talking. Their son began to play around the table. The boy was cute, active, and around four years old. Jaswant looked at the boy. The boy brought a thought into his mind that if Ravindra had not killed his wife, his child would have been like this child; cute and healthy. This thought filled him with anger and his hand moved to the loaded revolver in his pocket. But just then a waiter came and asked him for an order and put a menu before him.
Jaswant ordered him to bring a cup of coffee. He was trying to look calm and normal. He now looked at Ravindra's wife. She was a young and pretty lady of about twenty-five. Seeing her, he murmured, "she was going to die soon." He began to imagine the moments when he would shoot them down. This imagination gave him a bit of conciliation. Just then the waiter came and served him a cup of coffee.
With a sip of coffee, he began to stare at her. He began to take a fancy to her. The beauty of her now was provoking him.
All of a sudden, he heard some angry voices at the counter and then a sound of gunfire. He immediately took shelter under the table. The next moment, there was a stampede, gun fires and cries in the restaurant. He saw three masked men firing guns indiscriminately. People were getting bullet shots and dying. He closed his eyes and began to pretend to be dead.
When the gun firing stopped, he opened his eyes and looked around and found dead and injured all around. He stood up and came out from under the table.
