Invisible
Born 2010, F, from Portland,Oregon, United StatesI awoke to find myself sneezing hysterically and I reached for a tissue and loudly blew my nose. Then, as I pulled out another tissue, I realized that the tissues were floating! “WHAT HAPPENED??!!!” I yelled, staring at where my hands were supposed to be. Soon, my mind was brimming with possibilities. Had I turned invisible overnight? Did the sneezing cause it? Would I turn visible if I sneezed again? I decided to answer my second and third question. “Aaaaccchhhhoooo!!!” I sneezed. I looked down at my hands and was relieved to see vivid splotches of color streaming across my skin. I grinned, plotting evil plans for revenge on Maya, my sister. When I went downstairs, Maya was eating yogurt, perfect for one of my evilest plans yet. I let loose a little sneeze and grinned as the color on my skin slowly faded away until I was invisible. I slowly crept toward my sister until I was directly behind her and made sure that Nancy, the nanny that mother and father hired to take care of us, wasn’t watching me before I reached over my sister’s head and snatched the container of salt in one swift movement and sprinkled salt all over her yogurt. I watched, delighted as the little flecks of salt sank into the pink ooze. My eyes followed the spoon traveling to her mouth and I snickered quietly as she spit out the yogurt and ran to the bathroom to rinse her mouth. I rushed to the stairs and quietly sneezed, pretending that I had been there all along. As soon as Maya got out of the restroom, she glared at me and said, “I know it was you, I don’t know how, but I know it was you.” I shrugged and sneezed, knowing she was watching me with amazement as I faded right in front of her own two eyes. Before she could tell on me, I decided to have a little more fun. When my father was on the toilet, I flushed the toilet. While my mother was watching the television, I turned the lights on and off until she shrieked and left the room and I could watch what I wanted to watch...the best show ever...Invisible Sister!
