One week on from terror
Born 1953, F, from Auckland, New ZealandOne week on and NZ has turned a monsters act of terror into a country united.
We refuse to mention your name, we refuse to give you any airplay whatsoever. You are nothing to our country.
Our country has shown solidarity.
You have changed the way people treat others. Other religions, gang members, ordinary people have come together to spit in the face of this monster. To be together to farewell those that were taken too soon.
Thousands of New Zealanders have turned out to the funerals of his victims.
At 1:32 today we had 2 minutes silence.
Cars stopped on the side of the road, wherever you were in NZ people stopped what they were doing and stood in silence.
All I could hear was the birds singing. The sky was very dark. Women all over NZ wore head scarves to be united with all Muslim women.
It was lovely to see Maori groups, college groups, sports groups, gang members and many others standing side by side.
Doing the Haka as a mark of respect for those killed and for those that were wounded in this massacre.
Nz has banned all semi automatic guns and offered an amnesty buy back period. People are willingly handing them over. I have not heard one person complaining.
Until this atrocity happened I had no idea how many guns were in our country.
I hope other countries will follow suit with gun laws.
I hope this never ever happens again anywhere.
I hope everyone around the world will come together as one.
I hope all people someday will realise, we do look different on the outside but on the inside we are all the same.
NZ stands united.

03/25/2019The way your country has handled the aftermath of this tragedy is inspirational and admirable, and NZ has set an excellent example for other countries to follow. I hope they do! Thanks for sharing the true story of this terrorist attack and the way New Zealander's are taking action to stop terrorist attacks in the future, Shay! : )
