Nice And Bad At The Same Time
Born 2007, F, from Portland OR, United StatesEveryone thinks us wolves are terrifying creatures. We ‘growl’ at them with our sharp, dirty teeth. We ‘devour’ them as our supper. We make others afraid because we are ‘scary’. Lets just say, wolves aren’t creepy at all. We are nice, in another way. Some wolves are even vegetarian! But something always turns out bad when we try to help, and it makes people think we cause trouble.
You might believe the fairy tales. A wolf tried to eat three little pigs. Another wolf tried to consume Little Red Riding Hood and her grandma. Well, that’s me. It irritates me so much when people keep accusing me of eating the poor two. The story is much different.
One day, I was strolling in the woods to breathe in the fresh air. As I walked, I saw a little adorable girl who wore a little red hood. She also held a basket. As I walked up to her to ask where she was going, a tiger approached the girl. “Hi there,” he said, “where are you going?”
“I am delivering some cake and wine to my grandmother.” the girl replied.
“Oh, how sweet! I hope you have a safe trip!” the tiger replied. I immediately saw through the tiger’s fake acting. He was planning to devour the girl’s grandma, I knew it. I already saw the tiger racing to the girl’s grandma’s house in the distance. Quickly, I dashed to the house as fast as I could. Luckily, the tiger didn’t arrive yet.
I knocked on the door lightly. “Hello?” I whispered.
“Is that Little Red Riding Hood?” a frail voice asked. “Come in, come in!" The door’s unlocked. So, the little girl was named Little Red Riding Hood!
I stepped into the house lightly. It was particularly small for a house. An old lady was lying on the bed, her eyes barely open. Quickly, I hid the girl’s grandma in the closet; I had no choice. The girl’s grandma screamed in fear. “Monster!” she shouted out.
“I’m doing this for your own good!” I told her.
After a few minutes, the tiger stepped in. I quickly put on a pair of glasses and a hat. The tiger stared at me in disbelief. “You’re...not a Granny!” he shouted out loud.
Little Red Riding Hood jumped in. “You look different, Grandma,” she squeaked out. I revealed my true self, and Little Red Riding Hood screamed. Picking up Little Red Riding Hood, I placed her in the closet.
Suddenly, I heard footsteps - human footsteps. The tiger ran away as fast as his legs could carry him. The footsteps belonged to a man holding a gun. It was a… HUNTER!
“HELP!” Little Red Riding Hood’s grandma shouted.
“You WOLF! I’ll teach ya’ a LESSON!!!” the hunter shouted. He used a stick to hit me in the head, and I collapsed.
When I woke up, I had a stomach ache. It strangely felt like there were rocks in my belly! The hunter told the townspeople his own version of the story, that I was the one who tried to eat Little Red Riding Hood and her grandma. I was framed, and I will NEVER, EVER, live a happy life ever again.

05/04/2018I really like the idea of re-telling a classic tale from a different character's perspective. In this case, the villian's point of view. Very clever and well done! Thanks for sharing your story, and congratulations on being selected as one of the Story Stars's of the Week! :-)
