The Tale of the Writers
Born 2005, M, from Waukesha, Wisconsin, United StatesIt was March 25th and I was risking it all. There were rumors, of course, this one could may or may not be true. I remember back in October when Andrew started passing around a book that he wrote called “Tent the Turtle.” I read it. It was good, even the teacher read it and said it was good. So the rumor was that Andrew was writing a book. I was a very good writer, not to brag or anything, but I was great! So I was going to do the unthinkable and ask Andrew if I could help. Of course it might not be true and I could make a fool of myself.
But it was.
The bell rang as I walked over to Andrew and asked him.
“Can I help you write your book?” I asked.
“Hmmmmm,” Andrew thought “what would you write about?”
“A talking frog,” I answered, it was the best idea I could come up with.
“Ok,” Andrew said “start it tomorrow.”
I thought I would faint.
The above average student lets the average one write a book with him, what!
LATER…
We were having our “writers meeting.” Andrew had also hired Franko. We had the idea for the book, and we started.
LONG WHILE LATER...
It took a while but the book finished at 102 pages! And I realized that if you want to do something you have to do it. Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I hadn’t asked Andrew to help write a book. I never would have reached my dream, to write a novel.
