Memoirs of a Snow Flake Baby
Born 1949, F, from Atlanta, Ga, United StatesMemoirs of a Snowflake Baby
Although I am only a teenage girl, I have a story to tell.
I was born in 2000, I am now a 15 year old teenage girl, trying to figure out my life, my name is Eve and this is my story.
My story begins as an embryo, I am what you call a "snowflake baby," it's a term used to describe children, where the children's parents are not the original cell donors, and the embryo has been frozen for some time, in some cases years.
After my embryo adoption I was placed in the womb of a surrogate, who was my gestational carrier for my intended parents, who happen to be a same sex gay male couple, living on the upper West side of manhattan.
My parents who were wed in a commitment ceremony felt the desire to have a child and that was the start of my existence.
I knew at a young age that I had an extra sense, a couple of them, I could read people's minds, I could even see the future. This could be a blessing or a curse, I made mine a blessing.
I sometimes think I was blessed with this extra sense as a compensation for not knowing my heritage, not sure, maybe it was a result of being frozen for so long. My parents Nick & Joe sat me down when I was about 7 years old and explained to me the circumstances of how I was conceived.
I get the chills thinking of being in a freezer for years.
Having two dads certainly gets people's attention, my friends at school, would ask me how come we never see your Mom? I would answer I don't have a mother, I have 2 dads. That would usually return a blank look, they would never know what to say. I would hear their thoughts, which was usually something like oh! How awful.
I have to admit I was envious of other kids having a mother, I often day dreamed about what it would be like to have mother to do girly things with. Even with my extra senses I couldn't produce a mother for my self.
I love both of my Dads and they couldn't love me more, I am sibling free, I think it will remain that way. Until next time.................
Cordially yours,
Eve
